This event was to celebrate the winners of the Women’s creativity in rural life prize for 2014 in which Eunice Obala , VSF Germany training officer was awarded.
VSF Germany took this opportunity to display some materials to show how VSF Germany through its projects in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Somalia and Sudan is supporting the rural women and empowering them to be independent in their countries. Some posters explained VICOBA concept and how this has helped the pastoral women to gain skills and they have also benefit from the knowledge transferred by VSF G staff (Eunice) in uplifting rural women livelihood in these areas.
It was also opportunity to meet with the UN Women representatives for East and South Africa and she had a small discussion with Eunice.
The pastoralists women showcasted different products from tradtional livestock, agriculture procesing, honey productions, wood carvings, new technology in farming, fish preservation and food among others. There was a good turn out from pastoral communities in East Africa and various locations in Kenya.
